For Woodland Trust we redefined tree planting as a public health movement. The Woodland Trust rebrand was about creating an identity that is literally “forest-built”. The logo for the Trust was to be kept the same, therefore it seemed right that the brand world visually linked to the oak leaves featured in the logo. The signature green was kept, but an expanded colour palette was created to make the brand feel bright, bold and captivating to all audiences - whilst also being inspired by the seasons. The concept was to get people of the community to collect fallen leaves for us to then use to print from, and create our brand textures. The typography is bold and protest-inspired, to evoke the urgency of the campaign. The photography art direction really set them apart from other charities, showing people standing strong amongst the trees - whether they are in the forest or on residential streets. The diversity of the people featured in the images further helps the Trust to appeal to a much wider audience.
